Who doesn't love to travel. I love to travel. New places. New people. New adventures. Or maybe just the old change of scenery.
I just don't like the process of preparing for travel.
First you have to budget. Then you have to make the arrangements. On line travel arrangements? Hunting for deals? Easy? In my dreams.
Yes, the internet has made many things far easier, far cheaper. But it seems that one of the unintended consequences of the internet has been to make each of us our own secretary, spending uncounted time searching for information, dealing with the vicissitudes of the on line booking sites, reconciling e-mail confirmations with what we believe we have arranged for ourselves. I thought we had travel agents for this kind of work. Oh, that's right, travel agencies have been dropping like flies because there's no money in it any more. Who can compete with FREE?
Except that my time is not free, and neither is yours. But enough of my rant for now. The world has changed, and there is nothing any of us can do except go with the flow.
